Tumor Necrosis Fator-β (TNF-β), which is one of TN super families, exhibits biological activities resembling TNF-α, plays the role of mediator for inflammation and immune response, and involves in cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and neurotransmission. It is expressed in activated T- or B-lymphocytes. It is present in a solution as a homotrimer without a disulfide bond.
Source: E. coli expressed human tumor necrosis factor-β
Formulation: Lyophilized from 10 mmol/L sodium phosphate, pH 7.0 + 50 mmol/L NaCl
Biological activity: The ED50 is less than 0.05 ng/mL determined by the cytolysis of mouse L929 cells in the presence of Actinomycin D, corresponding to a specific activity of ≥ 2 x 107 units/mg
Reconstitution: Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex>. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
Endotoxin: less than 0.1 ng/μg
Note: Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycle.
