Application

Overview / Applications

Outline This product is for research use only. Do not administer it to human.

This is a chimeric cytokine composed of acidic fibroblast growth factor (FGF-acidic) and basic fibroblast growth factor (FGF-basic).
It is more structurally stable than FGF-acidic, and in the absence of heparin, promotes endothelial cell proliferation more strongly than FGF-acidic and FGF-basic. Further, it binds to all FGF receptor subtypes and FGF activity is exhibited.
With respect to radiation exposure, FGF-acidic is more protective against radiation damage than is standard; however, as a chimera with FGF-basic in FGFC, in vivo stability and FGF signal-dependent cell proliferative activity are improved, and enhanced survival rate after radiation exposure has been confirmed in mice.

Property

Appearance White lyophilisate
Origin / Source E. coli expressed chimera protein of human FGF-acidic and FGF-basic.
