Outline	IL-7 found as a pre-B cell growth factor has been shown today to have many actions. It proliferates sIg pro-B cells, early T cells, thymus cells, and mature CD4+ CD8+ cells in the presence of mitogens. It has been known to induce the production of CTLs (cytotoxic T cells) and LAK (lymphokine-activated killer cells). It is also known to act on monocytes to induce the production of inflammatory cytokines (IL-1, IL-6, TNF-alpha, and MIP-1 beta). Because the development of IL-7 activity is affected by anti-IL-2 antibody, it is considered that IL-7 may function through the production of IL-2.
