Overview / Applications

Outline This product is for research use only. Do not aminister it to human.

TGF-α is an EGF-like peptide produced in monocytes, keratinocytes and various tumor cells and exhibits similar activities as EGF.
TGF-α binds to EGFR/ErbB1, dimerizes receptors and activates tyrosine kinase leasing to activation of MAPK cascade through STAT3 and STAT5.
in vitro, proliferation of hepatic cells, mammary epithelial cells, epidermal keratinocytes and fibroblasts has been demonstrated and the action of the product as a neovascularization factor is also known.
Source: E. coli expressed human transforming growth factor-α
Formulation: Lyophilized with no additives
Biological Activity: The ED50 is less than 0.2 ng/mL determined by its ability to stimulate the proliferation of mouse Balbc 3T3 cells, corresponding to a specific activity of > 5 x 106 units/mg

Reconstitution: Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1 - 1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex.
This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers.
Endotoxin: Less than 0.1 ng/μg.

Note: Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycle.
