Do not administer it to human.Interleukin 6 (IL-6) is a multifunctional protein which is involved in immune responses, inflammatory reaction, hematopoietic and neuronal cell proliferation/differentiation as well as acute phase responses. IL-6 is produced by fibroblasts, B cells, T cells, macrophages, vascular endothelial cells and keratinocytes. The IL-6 signaling pathway is mediated by the IL-6 family of receptors which includes IL-6Rα and gp130. This product is a 20.9 kDa protein consisting of 184 amino acids.
IL-6 is a multifunctional protein, may be directly involved in the reaction occurring after infection and wound, is reported to be as important as IL-1 and TNF-alpha in controlling acute reactions. IL-6 is produced by fibroblasts, activated T cells, activated monocytes, macrophages, and epithelial cells, and acts on various cells including fibroblasts, bone marrow progenitor cells, T cells, B cells, and hepatic cells. IL-6 therefore has many names such as plasmacytoma growth factor (PCT-GF), IFN-beta 2, monocyte-derived human B cell growth factor, B cell stimulatory factor (BSF-2), hematopoietic stem cell stimulating factor (HSF), and interleukin hybridoma/plasmacytoma 1 (IL-HP1).
