Do not administer it to human.Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) was first discovered as a protein in the α granules of platelets that promoted the development of cells of mesenchymal origin. It is now known that many cells other than platelets produce PDGF, and it excerts a wide variety of biological effects. Unlike dimers PDGF-AB and -BB, PDGF-AA does not induce cell migration; in fact, it is known to inhibit the migratory effects of PDGF-AB and -BB. There are two types of PDGF receptors: PDGFR-α and -β. PDGF-AA binds preferentially to PDGFR-α. This product is a 28.5 kDa homodimer made of two PDGF-A molecules and consisting of a total 250 amino-acid residues.
