| Outline | Insulin-like growth factor is known to have 2 subtypes and this product is type 2. It has a specific receptor and promotes the proliferation of various cells in a culture system. It is closely associated with growth hormone and is involved in cross talk in the body in cooperation with the same. It has recently been reported to promote cell proliferation and bone formation in rat cells concentration-dependently. Other actions include promotion of glucose uptake and oxidation in fat tissue and muscle (insulin-like action) and promotion of DNA synthesis in fibroblasts, etc. |
