Outline This product is for research use only. Do not administer it to human.
This is a cytokine in which biological raw materials are not used during the culture and purification processes.
One of the six types of neuregulins that have been discovered to date, heregulin is defined and classified by its ability to bind directly to either erbB3 or erbB4, or to both receptors to activate erbB2. Heregulin β-1 (HRG1-β1) contains an Ig domain and an EGF-like domain that facilitate this direct binding to tyrosine kinase receptors erbB3 and erbB4, which consequently triggers heterodimerization with erbB2 and activates a specific kinase signaling pathway. However, the biological function of HRG1-β1 is still not fully understood. HRG1-β1 knock-outs in animal models have been found to be lethal, causing cardiac malformations, aberrant Schwann cell differentiation, malformation of the neuromuscular junction and aberrant cranial nerve differentiation.
