Inhibits tankyrases 1 and 2, accelerates degradation of β-catenin and stabilization of axin and, thus, inhibits Wnt pathway. Wnt signal is known to be important for self-proliferation of various stem cells. Therefore, inhibitors of Wnt/β-catenin pathway are used in researches of various stem cells including ES cells and iPS cells. |
