Outline	It is a versatile drug, also called perborate of soda or borax. The product is widely used not only as a reagent but also as an ingredient of prepared solution, a raw material of boric acid buffer solution, glass, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, preservatives, and photos. Its aqueous solution shows alkaline reaction to phenolphthalein solutions.The product is used as a standard reagent or buffer solution for analysis. The product is suited as a JIS K8866 standard pH solution and labeled with a JIS mark. This is a high purity product with proper balance between anions and cations, and also used as a pH standard solution (standard solution of boric acid) and a raw material of buffer solution.
