Reverse Phase Chromatography (C18)
Chromatography is the separation of an analyte (sample) between two immiscible phases stationary phase (packing agent) and mobile phase based on their partitioning equilibrium.
Among chromatography methods, reverse phase chromatography uses a packing agent with low polarity and a mobile phase with high polarity, while normal phase chromatography uses a packing agent with high polarity and a mobile phase with low polarity. Reverse phase chromatography often uses a packing agent chemically modified with alkyl chains on the silica gel surface, and octadecylsilyl modified silica gel (C18, ODS) are widely used for the packing agent.
Fujifilm Wako offers a wide variety of ODS columns with special characteristics.
