Fluofix® is a column packed with a carrier of high-purity spherical silica gel chemically modified with fluorinated silicone. As with hydrocarbon-based chemically modified packing agents (C18, C8, etc.), separation is basically performed in the reversed-phase distribution mode. However, the separation behavior is specific to each compound due to the strong water- and oil-repellent and rigid molecular structure of fluorinated silicon.
