Rechargeable Battery Materials
The rechargeable "secondary battery" is charged and discharged via the oxidation-reduction reaction of metal. In particular, lithium-ion batteries, also known as LIBs, are commonly used as power sources in cell phones and laptop computers. FUJIFILM Wako are also developing batteries using sodium and magnesium that produces divalent ions. These are more abundant on Earth and less expensive than lithium. In addition to materials and components required for each battery type, we also produce reagents used for performance evaluation and analysis.
