Application

Overview / Applications

Outline Galactines are a family of proteins which typically bind β-galactose-containing glycoconjugates and conserve the primary structural homology in their carbohydrate recongnition domains (CRDs).
The galectin family is classified into three groups according to their structure : the prototypical-type, chimeric-type and tandem-repeat-type. The galectin-3 is the chimeric-type. This full-length galectin-3 includes the carbohydrate-recognition domain in the C-terminal part and the tandemrepeats of short amino acid segment in THE N-ternuba part.
This product has a chimera form of galectin structure consisting of a carbohydrate binding domain and a non-carbohydrate recognition domain. It has gradually become clear that galectin-3 is involved in biochemical phenomena such as cell growth, adhesion, and apoptosis.
Carbohydrate specificity: Gal, poly LacNAc
This product is for research use only. Do not administer it to human.
