Outline	Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a free amino acid present in the brain at a high concentration and is known to function as an inhibitory neurotransmitter. Therefore, the presence and function of GABA receptors at synaptic sites are of great significance. GABA receptors are classified into three types, i.e., GABA(A) receptor, GABA(B) receptor, and GABA(C) receptor. GABA(B) receptor: It is considered that the receptor is functioning with a negative conjugation with adenylate cyclase and inositol phosphate metabolic turnover system through GTP-binding proteins.This is a GABA derivative which regulates both monosynaptic and multisynaptic reflexes, lowering the activity of gamma-motor neurons.
