Overview / Applications
Outline | D-luciferin is a luminescent substrate derived from fireflies. In the presence of ATP and magnesium, it is changed to luciferin-AMP by luciferase and is further oxidated to oxyluciferin by luciferase. It emits light at this time.By using this luciferin-luciferase luminescence mechanism, gene expression can be monitored with firefly luciferase gene as a marker. This product is potassium salt and is freely soluble. As a reagent of the molecular biology grade, it has been confirmed for DNase and RNase activities. |
