Outline It is used for quantitative determination of cyanide ions along with 1-phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone and sodiump-toluenesulfonchloramide. Suitability tests assure high coloring ability and low blank values of the reagent.
Used as a reagent for quantitative determination of cyanide ions by the use of isonicotinic acid-pyrazolone. This method has advantages over the conventional method using pyridine (pyridine-pyrazolone method), which is associated with a bad odor, in that it offers easy preparation of reagent solution and stable coloring.
