Overview / Applications

Outline This product is for research use only. Do not administer it to human.

Human interleukin-8 (IL-8) is an 8.0 kDa protein containing 72 amino
acid residues. It promotes neutrophil chemotaxis and degranulation.
The 72 amino acid IL-8 is the predominant form secreted by monocytes and
lymphocytes.

Source: Human monocyte-derived interleukin-8 cDNA expressed
in E. coli
Preparation: Sterile filtered then the protein was lyophilized
with no additives
Endotoxin: max. 0.1 ng/m g
Molecular Weight: 8.0 kDa
Reconstitution: The lyophilized IL-8 is soluble in water
and most aqueous buffers. The lyophilized IL-8 can be reconstituted
in water to a concentration of 100 ng/mL.
This solution can be diluted into other buffered solutions.
Stability: The lyophilized powder, though stable at room temperature,
is best stored at -20 degrees C. Reconstituted IL-8 should be stored
in working aliquots at -20 degrees C.
Biological Activity: Human IL-8 produces chemotaxis over a wide
concentration range in an assay using human peripheral blood neutrophils.
Significant chemotaxis was achieved using a concentration of 25 ng/mL.
