| Outline | Sevoflurane is a compound that exerts the anesthetic effect by acting on the central nervous system. It allows rapid induction of and recovery from anesthesia, undergoes little metabolization in the body, is excreted almost exclusively into the breath, and has no toxicity to the liver or other organs. Therefore, it has been used for anesthesia in laboratory animals. In addition, it has been believed to be faster-acting than isoflurane. |
