TRPV1 is one of the TRP channels cloned as a capsaicin receptor, functions as a pain receptor, and is activated by capsaicin, heat, and protons. SB-366791 inhibits the activation of TRPV1 by capsaicin and heat. It has been reported that it does not inhibit activation by protons.
