Do not administer it to human.Glycogen is a polymer which a number of α-D-glucose (glucose) molecules are polymerized by glycosidic bonds, resulting in a very large number of branched structures. It is a polysaccharide and is thought to be accumulated in the liver and muscle tissue as an energy source. It is widely distributed not only in animal tissues such as liver, cardiac muscle, skeletal muscle but also in tissues of invertebrates, bacteria, yeasts, fungi and protozoa. In genetic engineering experiments, glycogen is a reagent used as a coprecipitant when purifying nucleic acids by ethanol precipitation. |
