Use of λ Phage DNA

Bacteriophage λ is a type of virus that infects E. coli and has long been used as a vector in genetic engineering. Restriction enzyme cleavage sites in the λ phage DNA have been described in detail (Figure 1), and homemade markers can be prepared by digestion with restriction enzymes.
