In molecular biology experiments, nucleic acids are used as positive control and substrates of molecular weight maker. Fujifilm Wako offers nucleic acids from NIPPON GENE that are useful for these purpose.
Use of λ Phage DNA
Bacteriophage λ is a type of virus that infects E. coli and has long been used as a vector in genetic engineering. Restriction enzyme cleavage sites in the λ phage DNA have been described in detail (Figure 1), and homemade markers can be prepared by digestion with restriction enzymes.
