Each country examines the harmfulness of newly manufactured / imported chemicals to humans in advance, and regulates the manufacture, import and use of chemicals that may damage human health via the environment. These regulations may also apply when exporting products to other countries. FUJIFILM Wako provides test reagents for TSCA in the US and RoHS II in the EU.
TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act)
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issues the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). TSCA aims to reduce the risk of harmful chemicals under the jurisdiction of EPA to human health or the environment.
Section 6 (h) of TSCA stipulates the rapid regulation of persistent, highly accumulative, and toxic substances (PBT chemicals). Specifically, the manufacture, processing and commercial distribution of products containing PBT chemicals are restricted.
Therefore, when exporting products to the United States, it is necessary to confirm that the regulated PBT chemicals are not contained.

Both REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) and RoHSⅡ (Restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment) are regulations on chemical management in the EU. The REACH regulation is a rule regarding the registration, evaluation, approval, and restriction of imported chemicals. On the other hand, RoHS II directive targets electrical / electronic device and restricts the content of 10 chemicals. FUJIFILM Wako provides analytical standards of regulated chemicals, solvents / test reagents that are guaranteed the 10 restrict chemicals of RoHS II are below the standard values, and reagent for equipment calibration.
