Overview
This product is an immobilized catalyst in which rhodium (Rh) and platinum (Pt) are supported on dimethylpolysilane (DMPSi) and alumina (Al2O3). The rhodium and platinum nanoparticles show high activity and act as a strong hydrogenation catalyst for the aromatic ring. Normally, hydrogenation of aromatic rings requires high pressure conditions, but when this catalyst is used in a flow reaction, it proceeds under mild conditions (50 to 80 ° C, 1 atm H2). Depending on the substrate, the reaction proceeds at atmospheric pressure even in batch reactions.
Features
- Hydrogenation of aromatic rings under mild conditions (50-80°C, 1 atm)
- Maintains catalytic activity in continuous operation for 50 days or more with the continuous-flow method
- The continuous-flow method has maximum 27 times TOF (turnover frequency) than the batch method.
Applications
Hydrogenation of aromatic rings in the continuous-flow system
The durability of catalyst
The reaction conversion ratio is maintained quantitatively throughout a run of 1214 h (>50 days).
Hydrogenation of aromatic rings in the batch system
Recovery and reuse of catalyst in batch system
Selective partial hydrogenation of aromatic rings
One-pot synthesis of donepezil
Reductive Cross-Amination
