Fluorescence analysis is most suitable for microanalysis by, for example, HPLC, because it is more sensitive than the ninhydrin method.The detection limit is 5 pmol or less. It is 30 pmol for Cys. It is 100 pmol for Pro using the NaClO method.Sympathetic catecholamine metabolism plays a key role in cardiovascular diseases (such as ischemic diseases, heart failure and hypertension). Catecholamine is analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography and detected by the nynhydrin coloring method, fluorescence method using OPA and the electrochemical method (ECD).Thiol is required for reaction.
Spectrofluorimetry using o-phthalaldehyde (OPA method) is the most sensitive method of detecting primary amines including catecholamine, polyamine, amino acids and peptides. The product has very high purity and particularly low fluorescence background.
Instructions React at pH 8.0, 50 degrees C for 0.5 min.
