Application

Overview / Applications

Outline Autacoids are biologically active substances that, like hormones, exhibit strong bioactivity at extremely low concentrations, but unlike hormones exhibit the strong bioactivity not in a particular producing organ but at the site where it is produced. In chemical terms, autacoids are classified into amines (such as histamine and serotonin), peptides (such as bradykinin and angiotensin) and fatty acids (such as prostaglandin).Antihistamines bind to histamine receptors competitively to histamine.- H1 receptor antagonist (antihistamine competing with contraction of tracheal smooth muscle and intestines)- H1 diphenhydramine hydrochloride, chlorpheniramine maleate, promethazine hydrochloride, clemastine- H2 receptor antagonist (antihistamine competing with acceleration of gastric acid secretion as well as uterine contraction in other rats)- H2 cimetidineAntihistamine (H1-antagonist).
