Overview
BINAP is one of popular ligand in asymmetric synthesis. In decade, recovery and recycling of catalysts and ligands have been studied from an environmental point of view. There are various types of immobilized catalyst and ligands, but many complicated purification/work-up were often necessary.
BINAP-TMPTA can be easily synthesized and can be used in organic synthesis reaction. In addition, the Pd catalyzed reaction using BINAP-TMPTA gives results which show similar results as conventional non-polymerized BINAP/Pd catalyst.
Features
- Has potent asymmetric induction ability.
- Has high solvent resistance and can be used with most solvents.
- After reaction, it can be recovered and reusable without leaching.
- (Store under an inert gas atmosphere when kept without leaching.)
Applications
Preparation of Polymer BINAP-Ru-Activated Catalyst 1)
Asymmetric Hydrogenation of Methyl Acetoacetate
In the above reaction, the isolated yield and optical purity both remain 95% or higher after up to 7 reactions.
Asymmetric Hydrogenation of Itaconic Acid 1)
