Overview
9-Azanoradamantane-N-oxyl (nor-AZADO) that has sterically less-hindered type of nitroxy radical shows extremely high reactivity to wide range of alcohols. Especially in oxidation of secondary alcohol, nor-AZADO has very high reactivity compared with TEMPO, AZADO, 1-Me-AZADO and ABNO. Various alcohols are aerobically oxidized to their corresponding carbonyl compounds efficiently with nor-AZADO.
