Overview
“ISOSPIN Fecal DNA” is DNA extraction and purification kit from fecal sample using spin-column technology. Optimized buffers and physical disruption by beads beating enable to extract DNA from thick cell wall bacteria. Our original spin-column allows purification quickly and easily without phenol and chloroform. This kit requires a Bead homogenizer (available for 2 ml tube) for the bead-beating step.

The lowest Ct value was observed when DNA extracted with ISOSPIN Fecal DNA was used as a template.
This suggests that ISOSPIN Fecal DNA can efficiently extract DNA from Gram-positive bacteria such as Bifidobacterium in human feces.
16S rRNA bacterial flora analysis
It performed bacterial flora analysis of DNA extracted from human feces using ISOSPIN Fecal DNA. To confirm reproducibility between fecal collection kit, samples stored with 2 kinds of fecal collection kits were used.
Result
The DNA extracted with ISOSPIN Fecal DNA was used to perform bacterial flora analysis using a next-generation sequencer. Highly reproducible results were obtained between two kinds of fecal collection kits.
