IL-12 ELISA Kits
Interleukin-12 (IL-12) is a heterodimeric cytokine composed of two subunits with molecular weights of 35,000 (p35) and 40,000 (p40). It is also known as natural killer cell stimulatory factor (NKSF) and cytotoxic lymphocyte maturation factor (CLMF). IL-12 is produced by macrophages, B cells, and dendritic cells. It plays an important role in inducing cell-mediated immune responses by promoting interferon-γ (IFN-γ) production in T cells and innate lymphoid cells. Fujifilm Wako offers an ELISA kit for measuring IL-12 in mouse serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants with high sensitivity.
What is IL-12?
Interleukin-12 (IL-12) is a heterodimeric cytokine composed of two subunits with molecular weights of 35,000 (p35) and 40,000 (p40). It is also known as natural killer cell stimulatory factor (NKSF) and cytotoxic lymphocyte maturation factor (CLMF). Neither subunit of IL-12 is active on its own; the biologically active form is IL-12p70, in which p35 and p40 are linked by a disulfide bond. IL-12 is produced by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells, and induces the differentiation of naive CD4+ T cells into type I helper T cells (Th1), thereby enhancing the production of interferon-γ (IFN-γ). IFN-γ is involved in macrophage activation and the augmentation of inflammation in response to endotoxin1). Studies have shown that IL-12 plays an important role in initiating immune responses against autoimmune diseases, infectious diseases, and cancer.
LBIS™ Mouse IL-12 ELISA Kit
LBIS™ Mouse IL-12 ELISA Kit is a sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of mouse IL-12. This kit enables highly sensitive quantification of IL-12 in biological samples. The standard included in the kit is a recombinant protein produced in Escherichia coli.
Kit Performance
| Assay target | IL-12 (IL-12p70)*1 |
|---|---|
| Calibration curve range | 2.87 - 700 pg/mL |
| Analysis sample | Mouse Serum/Plasma (EDTA) /Cell culture supernatant*2 |
| Sample volume | 100 μL |
| Measurement duration | Approx. 4 hours and 50 minutes |

- This kit cross-reacts with mouse IL-12 p40 monomer, mouse IL-12 p40-p40 dimer, and mouse IL-23.
- Measurement availability depends on the culture medium.
When using cell culture supernatant as a sample, please make sure to perform recovery test and dilution linearity test on the culture medium before use.
