Outline	This product is for research use only. Do not administer it to human. This is a fluorescent probe that specifically responds to hydrogen peroxide, a reactive oxygen species. Many of a variety of known fluorescence that detects reactive oxygen species are based on oxidation-reduction. For this reason, these do not respond to a specific active oxygen species because they are likely to be affected by other active oxygen species and/or the coexisting oxidant/reductant. DCFH [2',7'-dichlorofluorescein] known as a fluorescent probe of hydrogen peroxide is also known to have low specificity. BES-H₂O₂ (cell-impermeant) has an advantage of being unlikely to react with other active oxygen species due to deprotection with a mechanism different from those of widely used fluorescent probes.
