Product Overview

Albumin is a plasma protein synthesized mainly in the liver, and measuring albumin concentration in serum and plasma is an important indicator in the diagnosis and management of liver disease and liver dysfunction. It is also known that in kidney diseases characterized by protein leakage into the urine, total protein and albumin concentrations in the blood decrease, causing hypoalbuminemia. Urinary albumin measurements are commonly performed using TIA method. Fujifilm Wako offers TIA reagents optimized for automated analyzers compatible with specimens from rats and mice.
This kit is a research reagent for an autoanalyzer to measure albumin in rat urine or serum using anti-rat albumin antibody. This is intended for research use only.

Repeatability (within run precision)

Repeatability was conducted by measuring five-fold assays of serum samples from rat at three concentrations with this product.

Reproducibility (between run precision)

Reproducibility was conducted by measuring serum samples from rat at three concentrations each for four days with this product.

Dilution Linearity Test

Serum from rat were serially diluted twofold with the buffer in this kit and measured in triplicate to assess linearity.

Spike and Recovery Test

Standard solutions at four concentrations were added to serum from rat. Next, spike recovery tests were conducted, with each measurement performed in duplicate.

FAQ

About sample

What should I do with samples that exceed the measurable range?
Dilute samples with purified water for an autoanalyzer, or dilution of samples should be made in a test tube using saline solution. Obtained value should be raised its dilution rate to be assay value.
Is it possible to conduct measurements using chylous samples or hemolyzed samples?
Hemolytic and chylous serum samples are not suitable.
* To avoid influence of blood (high lipid or hemolysis, etc.), if your original samples have heavy chyle or hemolysis, do not use them for assay. Abnormal value might be obtained with hemolysis above 200 mg/dL with this kit.
