Anti CD133 Antibodies
CD133 is a protein belonging to the Prominin family (also known as Prominin-1 or AC133), and was identified as a cell surface marker of hematopoietic stem cells. It is known as a marker for cancer stem cells (CSCs) derived from solid tumors. Therefore, it has been used as a marker for isolating stem cells from a wide range of human and mouse tissues and tumors.
Fujifilm Wako offers mouse monoclonal antibodies against human CD133, suitable for use in immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and Western blotting.
What is CD133?
CD133 (prominin-1) is a five-transmembrane glycoprotein with a molecular weight of approximately 120 kDa, encoded by the PROM1 gene in humans. In 1997, mouse prominin-1 was isolated from neuroepithelial precursor cells1), and its surface antigen AC133 (also known as CD133) was first reported as a surface marker for CD34-positive hematopoietic stem cells2). Subsequently, CD133 was identified as one of the key markers of cancer stem cells (CSCs) derived from solid tumors3). CD133 has been widely used for the isolation of normal stem cells and cancer stem cells from various tissues4). Although little was known about the expression and functional regulation of CD133 in cancer, recent findings have identified CD133 as a target gene of p53, one of the most well-known tumor suppressors5). Specifically, p53 directly binds to the CD133 promoter, suppressing its transcription, thereby inhibiting cancer cell survival and tumor formation5).
Anti CD133, Monoclonal Antibody (CMab-43)
Anti CD133, Monoclonal Antibody (CMab-43) is a mouse monoclonal antibody against human CD1336).
It is suitable for use in immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and Western blotting.
