Presep® PolyChelate

SPE Column for Metal Scavenger

Presep® PolyChelate is a SPE cartridge with a unique chelate resin modified with carboxymethylated polyethylenimine. It can be used for extraction and concentration of trace metals in sea, river, and waste waters, and also biological samples. Additionally, it is suitable for pretreatment such as removing noise or matrices for measurement of metal elements by AA or ICP spectrometry.

Features

  • Capable of trapping several metal elements.
  • Much more effectivel than an ordinal IDA (Iminodiacetic acid) type chelate resin.
  • Metal oxo-acids (Mo, V, and W) can be trapped under acidic or neutral conditions.

Example of Procedure

  • Column conditioning

    Column: Presep® PolyChelate

    1. CH3OH : 5 mL
    2. 3 mol/L HNO3 :10 mL
    3. H2O :20 mL
    4. 0.1 mol/L CH3COONH4 :10 mL

    Solid phase extraction

    pH adjustment of sample

    1. 0.1 mol/L CH3COONH4: 5 mL, sample: 100 mL
    2. pH was adjusted by HNO3 or NH3 solution.

    1) sample loading: ~500 mL (flow: 3~10 mL/min.)
    2) washing by H2O:20 mL
    3) extraction by 1~3 mol/L HNO3: 3~5 mL
    4) measurement by ICP-AES, ICP-MS, AAS, etc.
