Anhydrous and Air-Sensitive Solvent

Some organic synthesis or preparations require low contents of water and/or oxygen. Anhydrous solvents and air-sensitive reagents from FUJIFILM Wako reagents contain less than 10 ppm of water and 1 ppm of dissolved oxygen, and are packaged in a bottle with a special cap which can be using a syringe inserted through the hole in the cap (Figure). The bottle is purged and backfilled with nitrogen gas.

Features

  • Dissolving oxygen : 1ppm max.
  • Water : 0.001%(10ppm) max.

Example of Specifications Toluene, Deoxidized

Item

Specification

A lid is attached to the special cap. Please use after removing the lid.
As seen in the figure, extract the solvent with a syringe while blowing N2 gas in.

Example of Reaction

Here are the comparisons of the chemical reaction between normal grade and anhydrous grade.
