A selective and membrane-permeable inhibitor of the inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate(IP3) receptor-mediated Ca2+ release, isolated froman Okinawan marine sponge Xestospongia sp. A potent and highly sensitiveinhibitor of IP3 receptor with IC50 of 350 nM, whichis 30 times lower than that for ryanodine-receptor.
