| Outline | The product is used as an indicator for neutralization titration mentioned in JIS K8001 "General Notices for Tests using Reagents." Preparation method: 0.10 g of thymol blue +50 mL of ethanol (95) + water (-> 100 mL). Thymol blue has two indicator ranges, i.e., pH 1.2 to 2.8 on the acidic side where it changes from red to yellow, and pH 8.0 to 9.6 on the alkaline side where it changes from yellow to blue. |
