Outline	Trichloloacetic acid is highly deliquescent. Its aqueous solution is a strong acid comparable to hydrochloric acid and a solution in water in concentration of about 30 % or lower is unstable in storage. It is extremely corrosive and rapidly causes skin and mucus damages. Besides for immobilization and denaturation of proteins, trichloroacetic acid finds wide application: as an agent for fractionation of body proteins and lipids, and as a selective herbicide in the form of its sodium salt.6.12 mol/L solution, highly acidic solution. Trichloroacetic acid, which requires troublesome handling, has been prepared as a solution for easy handling. The product is a 100 % w/v solution in water and 1 mL of the product corresponds to 1 g of trichloroacetic acid.
