Outline	It is used as a silylating (trimethylsilylating) agent for pretreatment before gas chromatography.It reacts rapidly with hydroxyl and carboxyl groups under mild conditions, but does not react with amino groups.It can be applied for derivatization of alcohols, phenols, organic acids, steroids, hormones, and nucleic acids.(MW 140.3, bp: 99 degree C/14 mmHg)
