Overview / Applications
| Outline | This product is for research use only. Do not administer it to human. This is an agricultural chemical reference standard for testing residual agricultural chemicals for establishment of the provisional standards.A phenoxy proprionate herbicide, quizalofop-ethyl is a racemic compound with R and S enantiomers that is effective against grass weeds. The active component of this compound is quizalofop, the conjugate acid of the R enantiomer. The primary action of quizalofop is believed to be the inhibition of acetyl-CoA carboxylase. This is thought to prevent the synthesis of malonyl-CoA and fatty acids, which leads to the destruction of the meristem and eventually plant death. Quizalofop-ethyl has been approved in Japan for use in the farming of green and other types of soybeans, and provisional standards for the Positive List System have been set for agricultural product, and chemical residue standards for seafood have been requested to set.No. 152 in the Positive List System for Agricultural Chemical Residues in Foods. |
