Overview / Applications

Outline The product is tetrazolium blue into which a nitro group has been introduced to improve its stainability. It has a lower reduction potential (-0.05 V) than tetrazolium blue and is easily reduced in the presence of dehydrogenase to precipitate as blueish-purple diformazan (lambda max = 530 nm, epsilon = 3.6x10^4), so it may be used for detecting and determining dehydrogenases. It is a representative tetrazolium salt, because it is also superior as a stain used in the LDH fractionation method combined with agar electrophoresis and zymography.Detectable substances: Reagents for detection and determination include LDH, SDH, TPN, DPN, glutaminaseReagents for staining in electrophoresis include LDH, etc.Reagents for detection by electron microscopy include LDH, etc.An antibody for a target substance to be searched is prepared, the antibody or the secondary antibody is enzyme-labeled and reacted with the target substance in tissues and cells, the enzyme is reacted with a substrate and stained, followed by microscopical observation.Used as a substrate for glucoseoxidase.
