Overview / Applications

Outline This product is for research use only. Do not administer it to human.
Produced using all non-animal reagents.

Colony-stimulating factors were defined as factors that specifically act on monocytic cells and induce colony formation in semisolid medium.
M-CSF (Macrophage Colony-Stimulating Factor) acts on the progenitor cells of monocytes and macrophages to promote their differentiation and proliferation. M-CSF prolongs the survival period of mature monocytes and promotes the production of cytokines such as G-CSF, IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-alpha. It also activates the migratory and phagocytic activities of monocytes and macrophages, and enhances SOD production, thereby increasing their cytotoxicity. It also acts on osteoclast progenitor cells, induces RANK expression, and inhibits apoptosis until osteoclast differentiation occurs.
M-CSF is associated with a variety of diseases, including abnormal bone formation, carcinogenesis, and atherosclerosis.
