Overview / Applications
Outline | A substance that causes a moldy odor in tap water. The moldy odor produced by environmental pollution in rivers and lakes is due to metabolic products of various abnormally proliferated actinomyces and algae. Two-Metylisoborneol is also considered a substance that causes malodor in tap water since it emits a soil odor (or a moldy odor) in a very small amount like geosmin. It is used as a reference standard for analysis of 2-methylisoborneol. |
