| Outline | The product has been used in animals as a therapeutic for infection and antiprotozoan drug. It also has bacteriostatic and bactericidal effects against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Inhibition of bacterial dehydrogenase and inhibition of biosynthesis from pyruvic acid to acetyl coenzyme A are said to be the mechanisms of action.
