Overview / Applications
| Outline | Embedding involves allowing the tissue specimen (mass) to have given uniform hardness and filling the hollows in the tissue with an embedding agent such that the tissue is hard enough to resist deformation during sectioning. It also increases preservability such as ease of handling.Generally, embedding with paraffin is used for light microscopy and embedding with various resins for electron microscopy; the freezing method has been increasingly used in place of embedding. This product developed by Dr. Kushida is a water-soluble epoxy resin easily penetrating into tissues due to low viscosity of the embedding mixture. Epoxy equivalence: 110 to 120 |
