Outline	In the peptide bond formation reaction, amine component and acid component are protected by a temporary protective group and a semi-permanent protective group. For extension of peptide bonds, temporary protective groups such as Boc group are eliminated selectively, and the next peptide chain is extended. It is important to select the correct combination of the protecting group and the deprotecting group because the protecting group to be eliminated differs depending on the type of deprotecting reagent.It is used in the preparation of Bmoc- amino acids by introducing a Bmoc group. This is water-soluble organic solvent. It reacts quickly with amino residues forming BOC-protected amino acid derivatives at high yields. It can also eliminate tert-butanol and carbon dioxide, which are byproducts, very easily from the reaction system.
