Outline	Amino Acid Analysis Reagents are high-purity reagents from which ninhydrin positive components that would cause interference in the analysis have been removed.The product is used as ninhydrin solvent when amino acids after hydrolysis are detected using ninhydrine. This is a clear colorless solvent with high polarity and hygroscopicity and it has a slight irritating taste. It is odorless originally but may have a peculiar sulfur odor due to contaminants. It dissolves various inorganic and organic compounds but its dissolving ability is very selective showing good solubility towards aromatic and higher unsaturated hydrocarbons while hardly dissolving fatty hydrocarbons. It also has characteristics of a reaction solvent not shown by ordinary solvents. It penetrates well into cells and tissues. It is used as an aprotic high-polar solvent to improve the quality of organic synthetic solvents and diesel fuels, production of high-polar solvents, and protecting against cell destruction during cold storage.
