| Outline | Coelenterazine constitutes aequorin complex, which is a calcium-sensitive photoprotein, together with apoaequorin and oxygen and is used for monitoring intracellular free calcium concentration (about 0.1 to 100 micro-M or higher). Coelenterazine is used for regeneration of aequorin by incubating with oxygen and a reducing agent. It is also used for detection of superoxide anions and peroxynitrite. Abs: 429±3 nm (methanol) |
