| Outline | Analytical standarad for Gamma-oryzanol quantitation. Gamma-oryzanol is a mixture of ferulate esters of a number of triterpene alcohols obtained from the seed coat of rice Oryza Sativa Linne (Graminea). It is used extensively in recent years as a pharmaceutical product due to its excellent pharmacological effects such as lowering of serum cholesterol and improvement of autonomic dystonia and discomforts of heavy head and malaise deriving from climacteric disorder. It is also added to basic cosmetics such as nourishing cream and milky lotion as it also exhibits blood flow promotion and antioxidant effects against lipids. |
