Outline	Cesium trifluoroacetate is a medium for equilibrium density gradient centrifugation, used as a replacement for cesium chloride. Its recovery rate is particularly suited to isolation of highly pure and intact RNAs. It is characterized by the inhibitory effect on RNase activity and is effective for purification of mRNAs. It also solubilizes proteins and accelerates dissociation of proteins from nucleic acids and, therefore, it can isolate highly pure RNAs withuot protein contamination at high yields.
